André Brasilier, les racines du rêve
52 min, Museum TV, 2023
“This documentary is a touching and intimate portrait of André Brasilier, both as a man and as an artist. Presented as a testament to his art, the film focuses on two main aspects: André's connection to his youth and early inspirations, and the evolution of his art. The film pays special attention to his wife Chantal, who was André's muse and who appears in many of his paintings.”

This film benefited from the mentorship of director Tsaï Ming-Liang (Golden Lion in 1994 for “Vive L’Amour”), as part of the "Mentoring" program organized by FAMU.
Synopsis: Strange events disturb the daily life of a small Spanish village. A mockumentary blending absurdity and mysticism.
Intentions: After my experience in directing documentaries, I wanted to question the trust people place in the truthfulness of such productions. Through staging, I aimed to confront apparent authenticity and an illusion of reality with an entirely absurd narrative. This film, shot in Spanish and English, adopts the guise of a documentary while being entirely fictional, with actors playing the interviewees, an invented story, and a staged atmosphere. My goal was to create a striking mockumentary, where the illusion of authenticity serves the story.
